Well, it started of wet, I'm sure most of you were woken by the thunder if you were asleep, we had lightning, thunder and rain that looked like hail, but it brightened up.
The crowds gathered, the procession went round the town and everybody enjoyed themselves especially the kids Which is most important to me. Those memories last a life time. (anybody with memories please post them here.
There was four floats plus carnival queen, and various vehicles, a vintage car, vintage tractor, fire engine, there were also several walkers, PC plod etc.
The field was well attended I'd say over two thousand
It was well laid out, so if you come next year don't worry, it's a proper carnival field with full size arena, toilets, catering, stalls, disabled parking etc.
Fun fair was superb, twister, helter skelter, 3 junior rides, meteor, junior pirate ship, dodgems, bouncy castle, slide, punch ball, ghost train, fun house, . Supplied by Freeman's of lutterworth.
Then it rained, and rained and rained, and lightened and thundered, and thundered the loudest I've ever heard in my life.
So we never did get to see the arena entertainment
very disappointed, the pub teams didn't get to pull each others arms off at tug of war either.
I did however get to meet a rather a couple of rather nice blonde ladies from church walk on the corner of the dodgems though, so if your reading hi give us a pm sometime but sorry no I still don't want any kids wet or dry ;D.
I did have a good lesson in how to pack up fair ground rides though, and learned that it takes two men four hours to pack the dodgems up, and a little longer to put them up. A full days work when they aren't earning money, just on the dodgems. They said it can't happen two years on the trot so next year we'll have brilliant sunshine
Looks like plans are already in progress for it. well done AYMB
