Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of Drink Driving Following M42 Collision

A man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after the car he was driving was involved in a collision on the M42 motorway on Monday evening (21 January).
The collision at shortly before 8.15pm, on the southbound carriageway between junctions 10 and 9, involved a blue Ford Focus car and a Heavy Trac truck.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 35-year old man, was trapped in the car and was cut free by fire and rescue officers before being taken to the Good Hope Hospital in Birmingham, but was later released.
He was arrested by police on suspicion of drink driving and has since been released on police bail to return to Nuneaton Police Station on March, pending further enquires.
The southbound carriageway of the M42 motorway was closed to traffic at junction 10 following the collision while emergency services attended the scene. It re-opened at around 9.45pm.
