Plans are going through for a statue on Atherstones market square. I'm not sure what it is yet, but it's going to be discussed at this Wednesdays town council meeting at the old morgue in North Street. Geoff Taylor has described it as Phallic Symbol on another site while discussing the upcoming Farmers Market to be held on the Market Square.
He doesn't seem to be too enthusiastic about it, and has made a valid point. With the proposed band enclosure all the way across the top of the Market Square, will there be any room for a Market left.

What's it going to be, or who's it going to be? I know a few phallic symbols in Atherstone. ;D

LoL don't know about phallic but they look petrified of something. Backs against the wall and all that. I;d have loved to see something along the lines of what they have at warrington. A madhatters tea party, with the madhatter reading a book, and an adder wrapping itself around the table leg. Spare seats so people esp kids could sit to have their photograph taken at the table. But nooo, as usual we get 'it's better than an it was. I'm so glad that I had a chance to give my input as I'm sure you are Tinfish, as usual.

Where have I seen those characters before, holding the ball, back to back? I can see it but I can't place it. Sort of turning in a cartoon.

I thought this was also a sculpture trail. I can't see people being interested in sound boxes, and can't see them lasting very long. I'd like to know where these tales and other stuff have come from too, because I've heard nothing about this until recently.
