The towpath being closed at bridge 43 the King's head has caused some inconvenience as it isn't advertised at Atherstones top lock but should be worth the inconvenience. We'll get an improved access ramp, with new brick pavement and raised bricks to improve grip when it's slippy, new hand rails and new barriers. This should help to prevent those trial bikes getting on to the canal towpath, especially as the hole in the fence from the old silo site is now gone due to redevelopment.

Ha Ha yes it's open. Hope those barriers keep B&H off the towpath with his bike, protect that poor swan from him harassing it.

It's meant to keep motor bikes off the towpath not pedal bikes, but B&H should have a permit to cycle on the towpath. Without a permit I suppose it could be classed as trespass ;D
