I think towns are better due to their smaller size hence safer, cleaner and better local amenities. comparing it to Birmingham where the hospital waiting times are ridiculous unless your on the verge of dying, where the streets are a lot worse than in towns, a lot dirtier and crime ridden.
People from Birmingham argue that it is the cities where the investment was happening and things are improving and most of the money goes to such areas and the towns are given the left overs...

Towns are a lot safer than cities, there's less guns, less drugs, more green space and parks.

You get less fighting in towns, less violence, less destruction. Only down side I can think of is that a town has less facilities.
