North Talk.
Propaganda from north warwickshire borough council.
“ north talk should be cancelled to save money and keep the Council Tax down. At this present time, it is totally unnecessary and would save money. I have not spoken to anybody who thinks it should be continued. “ Comment: Research shows that Council magazines are one of the best and most cost-effective ways to get the message out. Based on current costs, north talk is 30p per household per issue to include design, print and delivery direct to all households in North Warwickshire. A copy of the Herald is 60p.
Madhatter says:Maybe so, but the messages you're getting out there don't need to be out there, its only the good news that you want out there to make you're selves look good. It isn't a ballanced or truthfull view of your work or the community. The kitchen refurbishments are an excellent example. In Welcome Street the majority are not happy with the job that got done by lovells and their sub contractors and most have the view that the refurbishments never got finished. Most never got asked what they thought of the refurbishments either. Main sub contractor FHM avoided leaving cards at addresses that they knew weren't happy with the workmanship. The did a cow boy job, using sub standard and second grade materials. Thats a fact that is obvious when looking at the kitchens and bathrooms. Yet according to North Talk we're all thoroughly pleased with lovells and FHM's work and happy with the new kitchens.

could this possibly be the same FHM? noo it couldn't be www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/Aspley-woman-injured-falling-piece-coving-council/story-15288657-detail/story.htmlA WOMAN says she was injured in her home by an eight-foot long piece of plaster which fell on her. Alison Sagar had improvements carried out at her council home in Fulwood Crescent, Aspley, as part of the Secure Warm Modern programme. Mother-of-one Alison, who has limited movement due to a back condition, said she had to go to hospital on January 23 after a piece of decorative plaster coving, about eight feet long, fell on her. The 42-year-old said she has still not regained full movement in her right arm following the accident, and is waiting for test results from her GP to know the full extent of the damage. "I haven't really been able to use my arm since the coving fell on me," she said. "It's horrible. I just wanted to cry every day. I didn't want to leave my bedroom because it was the only nice room in the house. "I'm virtually housebound, so I want a nice house. I don't want to be stuck in a house full of holes with plaster falling off the walls." Work to Alison's kitchen and bathroom started in June and was completed in October by FHM, one of three contractors used by Nottingham City Homes. Alison said she reported leaks from piping in the bathroom to FHM in October and again in December. On their last visit on December 29, Alison said the contractors left holes in the walls and bathroom floor. She said that, after the coving fell on her in January, she contacted FHM again, but they failed to come out to complete the work. The Post contacted Nottingham City Homes last week and the repairs have now been carried out by FHM.

another excellent example of how bad and rude North Warwickshire borough council are. I've just rang to report a broken boiler and been told they can only get to me tomorrow. I've got to have a day off work to fit in with them yet again. when asked what I'm supposed to do for heating tonight they avoided the question. When i said find someone to fix it today they put the phone down on me. incredibly rude. surprised they haven't accused me of ringing to stalk them, they do like accusing me of stalking their employees. No point making an official complaint because then me an my family just get harassed. They said get someone to stay there. who the hell am i gonna get that doesn't work. There's only my 82 year old mum and she can't get out of bed most days. she's got a stair lift, how the hell is she gonna get to a first floor flat. I've had a day off to service it, another day off for flat inspection, another day off garage inspection, another day off for mums boiler service, i need another off to do the front door. ye its great living in council accommodation but the holidays are crap.

I've just spoken to the Asbestos sampler who is doing the communal areas and he agrees that the bin cupboards haven't been sealed properly. Unsealed point of contact he called it.
