Missing man found guilty of sex offences

A MAN who went missing from his North Warwickshire home has since been found and jailed for 12 years.
Frank Randle went missing on August 19 after leaving his home in Atherstone and a search was launched by Warwickshire Police to find the man.
Officers said they were ‘increasingly concerned for the welfare’ of Randle who is understood to have caught a train to Stafford where he was last seen in Victoria Square, in Stafford.
It has since been revealed that the 50-year-old was found on August 22 and taken to Stafford Crown Court to face charges of rape and indecent assault.
This was after an investigation by detectives from Staffordshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable People department into historic sexual offences and rape.
Following a trial, Randle was convicted of two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault and was jailed for 12 years.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “Staffordshire Police can confirm we carried out an investigation into historic sexual offences and rape.
“Frank Randle, aged 50, of the Atherstone area, was charged as a result of the investigation by detectives from Staffordshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable People department and he was convicted and sentenced at Stafford Crown Court on Thursday, August 22 following a trial.
“He was convicted of two counts of rape and two counts of indecent assault and was jailed for 12 years.
“The offences were committed in Tamworth and Pembrokeshire between 1991 and 1996.”
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: “Warwickshire Police would like to thank the media and members of the public for their assistance while his whereabouts were unknown.”
