MP confirms details of Polesworth HS2 event
September 5th, 2013
Having ensured that Polesworth would not miss out on HS2 Ltd’s consultation event ‘tour’ of local towns, Dan Byles MP has now confirmed the details of the Polesworth consultation event.
Dan had lobbied hard over the last few weeks, including speaking with the Minister of State for Transport and Alison Munro CEO of HS2 Ltd, for an event at Polesworth after they had originally announce Polesworth would not be visited.
Speaking at the time the North Warwickshire & Bedworth MP said:
"I was furious when I found out that HS2 Ltd would not be coming to Polesworth, but would be going to Tamworth instead. We are the worst affected borough outside of London, and it is essential that local people have the opportunity to directly question HS2 engineers about how they will be affected.”
Having successfully persuaded HS2 LTD to come to Polesworth to talk with residents and share information about the proposed rail scheme the event will be held on Friday 11th October 2013 from 12pm to 8pm. The location of the venue is the North Warwickshire and Hinckley College Campus in High Street, Polesworth B78 1DU.
Dan said:
“I will now be liaising with the HS2 action groups to promote it throughout the area. It is imperative for Polesworth not to be ignored in the consultation process due to the close proximity of the proposed line to the town. We continue to do all that we can to raise the awareness of the devastation of North Warwickshire at the highest level.”
