ATHERSTONE Town saw their weekend game called-off after the tragic passing of player Aaron Green. As a mark of respect, the Midland Combination Premiership side cancelled Saturday’s home fixture against Studley. A club statement read: "It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Atherstone Town player Aaron Green has been tragically killed in a car accident. Ivor Green is his uncle. "Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with his family and friends "As a mark of respect, both today's matches have been called off." Aaron is the nephew of Adders manager Ivor Green. He was from Camp Hill in Nuneaton and formerly attended Hartshill Secondary School. More details to follow.
