I have recently joined the forum and hope that someone may have some knowledge of the old Atherstone roads and places. I have a keen interest in the first world war along with members of my family, we have recently visited Ypres in Belgium and have found the gravestone of a young man killed in action that was from Atherstone. In the cemetery book of remembrance his home address is listed as the Grotto, Atherstone, Warwickshire. I have tried but cannot find where the Grotto was located in Atherstone. Does anyone on here know, if so I would be grateful of any information.
