NUNEATON and Bedworth Borough Council is on the brink of signing up to become part of the West Midlands Combined Authority powerhouse.
A full council meeting is to be held on Wednesday and it is being recommended that the local authority accepts the invitation to become a non-constituent member of the proposed West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
Up until now, the council's stance has been to keep all options 'open' but Town Hall leader, councillor Dennis Harvey indicated that it would be 'ludicrous' for the Town Hall not to be linked to nearby Coventry, which is also believed to be signing up to the large authority plan.
But now, in a report to the full council, it asks all councillors to consider the invitation and then, if passed, to agree to contribute funds to the creation of the WMCA.
