This year we will be having 4 services details of which are:
Wednesday 2nd December – 6.30 pm Atherstone Torch Light procession from Queen Elizabeth Academy to the Market Square
Sunday 6th December – 4 pm at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, Eliot Way, Nuneaton CV10 7QL
Wednesday 9th December – 6.30pm Coleshill United Church, Coleshill B46 3BE
Sunday 13th December – 4 pm All Saints Church, High Street, Bedworth CV12 8NH
The Mary Ann Evans Hospice Light up a Life event is one of many events being held by the hospice movement to support people dealing with the death of a family member or friend.
It is an opportunity to offer some solace during the bereavement process and to build up a connection to other people in their community who are going through the same situation.
With more than 350 events taking place across the UK, every Light up a Life celebration is different. The most significant part is the opportunity to dedicate a message in memory of a loved one such as lighting a candle, hanging a message on a memory tree or recording the name of someone special in a book of remembrance.
Kay Greene Head of Clinical Services said:
“Light up a Life is one of the most valued events in our calendar. It enables hundreds of people in our local community to experience the warmth and joy of sharing precious memories as they light a candle and remember a loved one.
The memorial events are open to everyone, not just those who have experienced hospice care. We encourage other people in the community to support their local hospice and sign up to their nearest event. Like all independent hospices, the Mary Ann Evans Hospice relies on public generosity to fund our services and we are always grateful for the support we receive from people across our community.”
