Coventry BID and the city council are organising this year's event which will again take place in Broadgate
The date for Coventry’s Christmas lights switch-on has been announced.
The big event for 2015 has been organised for Wednesday, November 25, and will once again see thousands pack in to Broadgate for a night of entertainment in a winter wonderland.
Last year’s switch-on saw X-Factor boyband Union J take centre stage as they performed a number of songs in front a large crowd of mainly screaming teenage girls.
They also joined a whole host of guests onstage - including TV and radio duo Sam and Mark, Free Radio’s JD and Roisin, Coventry City and Wasps players, and, of course, Father Christmas, who had just abseiled down the side of Starbucks - to press the plunger and switch the city’s Christmas lights on.
The acts and hosts for this year’s show are still to be announced by organisers Coventry BID and Coventry City Council.
Coleshill Christmas Lights Switch On
Christmas Fair
1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, 28th November at the Town Hall, High Street
Many seasonal stalls and musical performances by local schools.
If Coleshillians have been good, Santa will call in on the children as well.

4:30 p.m. on Saturday, 28th November at the Town Hall, High Street.
The Mayor, will light the internal Christmas decorations within the Town Hall which will trigger the whole High Street to be simultaneously lit up.
Hinckley Town Centre Christmas Light Switch On

Kenilworth's Christmas lights switch on
Friday, November 27.
The start of the Christmas season in Kenilworth will be held via the Market Road switch-on with the market, funfair rides and entertainment.
Leamington's Christmas lights switch-on
Sunday, November 15 from 11am until 5pm.
Leamington Spa's Parade will be the scene for a bumper Yuletide market, with hosts Touch FM welcoming a cast from Cinderella and some local talent to perform.
You can also expect fairground rides, choirs, dancers, singers and members of the Royal Spa Centre’s pantomime cast to appear.

Wheel of Light
This year, for the first time, view the Christmas lights from Leicester’s Wheel of Light. The big wheel will be located on Jubilee Square from Saturday 21 November to Sunday 3 January.
The big wheel opening times are:
Sunday to Thursday, 12noon – 9pm
Friday, 12noon – 11pm
Saturday, 10am -11pm
Closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day

Celebrate the start of the Christmas season at the 7th annual Leicester Winter Food Festival The free event will feature over 150 stalls of tasty food and drinks from local producers along with unique handmade crafts. Paul Young, an 80s pop singer, will kick off the town’s celebrations on Sunday, November 22.
Stratford-on-Avon's Christmas lights switch on

The switch-on will be held from 4.30pm onwards, with a range of events happening throughout the town, including a Santa's grotto, carol singers and late night shopping.
Tamworth Christmas Light Switch On
TAMWORTH is set to become a festive wonderland when the town’s Christmas lights are switched on next week.
For the first time the event, which attracts thousands of visitors every year, is taking place on a Sunday (November 23).
Also new to the annual gathering is the addition of a festive Christmas market.
More than 20 stalls will be set up in St Editha’s Square and along George Street, selling a range of Christmas gifts and novelties, local produce and festive food.
Tamworth Lions will also have a charity chocolate tombola and lollipop lucky stall.
Live music, dance performances, fairground rides, living Nativity, a Christmas treasure hunt and a Dickensian street performer are just some of the attractions set to draw in the crowds at this year’s Tamworth Christmas lights switch-on.
The festive fun will start at 11am, with dozens of events taking place throughout the town centre during the afternoon. This year, there will be a stage in St Editha’s Square which will feature performances from X Factor contestants The Joys, Rotary Search For a Star runner-up George Radcliffe, Urban Fusion Dance Company, Tamworth Pantomime Company, Two Gates Primary School choir and Tamworth Voices.
The Community Café will be running free arts and crafts activities throughout the event too.
In keeping with tradition, St Editha’s Church will be packed with more than 100 decorated Christmas trees and the ever-popular walkabout characters will be mingling with the crowds.
Worshippers from St Francis Church in Leyfields will be staging a live Nativity under the Town Hall – complete with a real donkey.
Just down the road in Market Street, Fergus & Fogg Toy Emporium will have a snow machine and carol singers outside the shop on the day.
Dozens of Santas will be taking part in the Rotary Club Santa Stroll, which starts in St Editha’s Square at 3.30pm and aims to raise as much money as possible for the Rotary Santa Charity.
There will be walks for able-bodied people, dog walkers, pushchairs and wheelchair users and registration will be open from 2pm on the day.
The festive fun will build to a climax at 5pm, when the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on by Unwrap Tamworth at Christmas art competition winner Bethany Khan, Father Christmas and Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Richard Kingstone.
The choir from St Editha’s Church will then lead the crowd in a Christmas carol sing-along.
Last year’s Christmas lights switch-on attracted more than 8,000 visitors, and organisers are hoping that this year’s event will be even bigger and better than ever.
Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Richard Kingstone, said: “The Christmas lights switch-on is one of the highlights of Tamworth’s year. The atmosphere is lovely and it really gets everyone in the mood for Christmas.
“This year will be even better, with the wonderful Christmas market adding to the festive feel, along with the decision to hold the celebrations on a Sunday.
“I’m really looking forward to this year’s big switch-on, and I hope thousands of Tamworth people will join me on the day.”

Touch FM will host a packed programme of entertainment on stage in the Market Place where Father Christmas will help the Mayor of Warwick switch the town’s lights on.
Expect a traditional carousel, ferret racing, traction engines, fire spinners, children’s rides and entertainments, Victorian Market and craft stalls.
