Abuse in relationships

I was putting the van to sleep, and heard arguing coming from long street. There was a guy and a girl, she was crying, he was going off up the hill shouting this is f in it this time, you whinging fat b*tch. I hung about for a bit, and a few minutes later she'd walked back from the town, and he'd got a lift from the regal, he got out, walked up to her, and knocked something from her hand, I think he hit her phone, it looked like a battery cover dropped on the floor, but she never picked it up. he did this several times, then they walked off up the hill. Every few steps he'd shout, hit her, she'd go into the middle of the road, then argue, then a car would come and he'd cuddle her, then walk and over again.
Why the hell is she putting up with him? how can she love him, when he's hurting her?
I really can't understand why you girls put up with such bullying idiots. It's not till he punches you and cracks your cheek bone that you leave, and even then some still go back for more.

She's a fool, yet she'll probably put up with the violence for years and then will have trouble forming a normal relationship with a nice decent man. There's not a lot you can do, they won't listen at that age. All you can do is advise and let them get on with it.
