There was no water in the tap earlier about 1am, it had slowed to a trickle by 12 so I'd filled the kettle, then expecting it to be back up to pressure I was surprised to find it had completely gone off. Now its looking very dodgy, milky viscous and full of multicoloured bits. And all with no warning and no explanation on the Severn Trent site, It's unacceptable, it's a disgrace, a complete mess. If i'd poured that in the kettle I could be dead now

I hope your water is back to normal now Changing the subject slightly, how's the heavy rain been affecting the Atherstone area? Apparently it has been the wettest start to a British Summer since records began in 1766 As a business ( www.goonhilly.biz ) we are experiencing a drop in tourists which is inevitable, since many are either suffering the effects of the bad weather themselves in this country or maybe are, at the last moment, deciding to fly off to sunnier climes such as Greece & Italy & are finding when they get there that they cannot sit outside because of the smog or bush fires. We are hoping for an Indian Summer.( Sorry,am I allowed to say that, seems a bit un-pc )

That it you care more about the water than the fact I could have died At least we haven't got bowser's though that people have peed in. I haven't really been out looking, I've avoided all the possible flood areas. My bro on the other hand thinks it's great fun to drive through them .Witherley has been flooded, don't think it went in the houses though, along the river as usual, The B5000 got closed because the flooding was so bad, and some homes were flooded in Polesworth. There were some pictures in the herald last week of Polesworth I think. I'll have a look. I don't think anyone in atherstone got flooded, not even Levi's old farm shack. We have had flash floods on local Atherstone roads though, the drains just can't cope. It comes down so fast, and it's so weird one minutes its torrential rain and hailstones, next it's bright sunshine again. Elsewhere where I've been, ...the M25 was like driving down a river, a good half inch of water covering the whole carriageway, I've never driven through water that deep that is consistent over the lenght of the motorway. Oxford services has sandbags because the water come down the path so much it fills the matt wells and come in. Fields I've never seen water on are like lakes near oxford too. My other brother said he saw a caravan floating down the river Avon last week. It's all bad stuff but I don't believe it's global warming I think it's just a freak weather condition. Been a nice day today though and as i type the sun is shining in, People are smoking the evil weed outside the swan, Kids are playing, all is calm.
