"Edward Atkinson, a 75-year-old anti-abortion activist, was jailed recently for 28 days for sending photographs of aborted foetuses to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, Norfolk. That draconian sentence was not deemed punishment enough: the hospital has banned Mr Atkinson from receiving the hip replacement operation he was expecting." The Times May 12, 2006 www.timesonline.co.uk/article/Is it right that someone gets refused hospital treatment at a hospital for doing something like this? I don't think it is. I think this is very different from some drunken yob assaulting staff on a Friday or Saturday night.

Seems a bit unfair to me.

The hospital says it's staff abuse. I don't see it that way, I see it as physical or verbal is staff abuse, this is at most harassment and has been dealt with already by a prison sentence.

I remember this, he was interviewed on the local radio station. Strongly believed in what he was doing and did not see anything wrong with his campaign or how he carried it out. I don't see how refusing anyone treatment is going to stop them campaigning if thats what they believe in. It's a bullying tactic which shouldn't have been allowed. Labour government again you see, letting the hospitals do as they wish.
