Thread moved here from events section for discussion. Do you think this is a suitable date for what is supposed to be a summer event, Bearing in mind that it could be cold as well as wet. Carnival through the streets of Atherstone And fair, stalls, entertainment etc on the Royal Meadows Off royal meadow drive Between sheepy Road and Ratcliffe Road. 12.30pm Crowning of the Carnival Queen will take place in the Market Square 1.00pm Carnival procession starts North Street Ratcliffe Street Long Street Woolpack way South Street Station Street Long Street Ratcliffe Street Sheepy Road St Georges Road Field attractions include American Football Rock Bands Children's sports Atherstone Youth Marching Band Army vehicles Refreshments Food Side stalls Beer tent. News update The draw has taken place for the Carnival Queen, it took place at the Dickens night 60s70s80s night disco on 12th April. Anyone who would like to do a float for this years carnival please get in touch, the carnival team have lorries available for use. There is no set theme, be imaginative be bold have fun, but be family friendly. This is a family event. If you'd like to do something on the gala field, a stall exhibit etc get in touch. atherstone-carnival.org.uk
