In an age when kids are getting more obese, junk food is everywhere, and exercise seemingly nowhere, you'd be pleased to see a group of kids playing hopscotch out on the street....wouldn't you? Seems some people aren't, in fact some were so displeased that they called the police and reported them... "A group of youngsters has fallen foul of the law for playing hopscotch. West Midlands Police community support officers asked parents in Spring Street in Halesowen to remove chalk markings after complaints about them. Several children were involved in the games resulting in several markings on the pavement. Police said they were also investigating complaints of anti-social behaviour. But mother Lisa Mangan said their action was "extreme". "news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/west_midlands/5233262.stm

One would think the police and the neighbours would be more interested in the kids that go round thieving, breaking into houses and sheds, shoplifting, throwing stones, damaging property and making a general nuisance of the selves. Not these innocents playing hopscotch.

I think maybe that the residents just picked on any excuse cos they didn't like the noise. I think footballs on tarmac are annoying, and especially around cars, I watched some idiot encourage a child that he was in charge of, god help him if it's his dad, to kick a football around the old swan car park on an a weekend evening when it was full of cars. No wonder kids grow up with no regards to others property.
