More than £20,000 has been raised in memory of a footballer who collapsed and died during a match. Matt Gadsby, 27, died while playing for Hinckley United at Harrogate on 9 September. A post-mortem examination revealed he had a heart condition. The defender, who was from Polesworth, Warwickshire but lived at Swadlincote in Derbyshire, collapsed during the first half of the game. Club spokesman Dave Riche said the response has been "unbelievable". The money raised will be used for a memorial fund for his wife and daughter. The England Manager Steve McClaren has also backed the campaign. The player featured in Walsall's play-off final victory against Reading at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium in 2001. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/leicestershire/6069302.stm
