hiya

i am having some trouble with my computer and was wondering if any of you technical minded people will have any idea what is up with my computer.I am finding it very annoying that i keep getting lots of adverts popping up on my pc asking for credit card details etc , do i have a virus and what can i do about it.Sory if this is the wrong place to ask and thankyou for any help ;D

Is it a legitimate copy of windows?
If it is you could try microsofts safety centre

If not try spybot search and destroy

And lavasoft's free personal version

I suspect you are going to have trouble downloading anything though, they usually try to block you from downloading and running spyware and adaware removal programs.

It could of course just be pop ups from sites you've opened. If it is googles or yahoos search bar has a pop up blocker built in if you download one of those.
