Demolition work is beginning at the former Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry, after a "super-hospital" opened on the same site earlier this year. The Walsgrave and the Coventry and Warwickshire hospitals were closed in July when the new University Hospital opened on the Walsgrave site. With 1,250 beds, the £400m University Hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Europe. The old Walsgrave site will be turned into a car park and landscaped. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/coventry_warwickshire/6157598.stm
