You'd think that the internet would be full of friendly sites, chat rooms, forums wouldn't you, friendly just like you.
Well in my experience it's far from that. It's a war zone of warring, brain dead warriors intent on cutting people down with their childish sarcasm for the entertainment of themselves and their cliques.
This weeks helping of member bullying and site corruption comes from free dating.co.uk. A dating site for free. Free to create a profile, free to message, free to reply. Sounds fantastic, too good to be true.
It is. The site has many pitfalls. One is that because it's free, idiots join that aren't even looking for partners. Members that have had partners for months lurk in the forums, ready to pounce with their dark sarcasm and thoughts control. They are the foundations of 'the clique' a hardcore group that dwell in the forums intent on controlling all the forum meets, forum threads and keeping new members at the bottom of the pile where they belong. Any member that has their own opinion on threads is bullied to the point where they get banned or leave the site of their own accord. I received many private messages from people that stated that they wasn't happy and felt bullied by a 'the clique' to the point that they had to leave the site.
Hold your own in a thread and prove you're right and watch them go off topic, any old tosh will do, such as posting 'ebeneezer scrooge', just as long as the emphasis is taken of the post that proves them wrong.
On the dating and profiles side, you're asking for a miracle to get a reply from a message, There's absolutely no incentive to even look at a profile of a messager as the site is free, and boy do we guys get that message and very little else. I'd say a return of about 1 in a 100. The site software doesn't help either, with no preset responses members just can't be bothered to reply if they don't fancy a messager. Many on the site seem to suffer from delusions of grandeur and have standards set way too high. This does nothing for the moral of the guy who posts in the forum 'why do I get ignored, why don't girls message me back'
'The mod' is like a wet weekend at blackpool, he does absolutely nothing about 'the clique', instead choosing to ban the victims of these internet crimes for 24 hours. Completely locked out , unable to have access to any features of the account or to contact anyone you've been conversing with and no way of explaning why you can't. Anyone who dares to challenge why via the contact page gets an indefinite suspension, still no way of contacting the people you've been chatting to, still no explanation. It appears to them as if you've just left of your own accord after spending weeks chatting and getting to know them. Some must be absolutely gutted, must be wondering 'what is wrong with me for him to just leave the site without as much as a goodbye'.
Contact the admin and you'll get a complete blank, nothing, zilch. So this is yet another site run by corrupt admin who side with the sites regular 'clique'
If you do join don't forget to give an email as soon as possible for when when you get banned.
Watch out for the names you can't click on, the site is littered with them like tombstones in a graveyard.
