There has been rumours flying around all over the place since the times ran a story about Fedex taking over tnt

If the recent rumours that Fedex are in talks to take over TNT are true, it's possible that Atherstone hub would close. Fedex already have a hub at Stoke on trent, it's unlikely that they'll want Kinsgsbury, Atherstone and lount too. With atherstone Hub being so small and landlocked it could just join the two that are sitting empty at Nuneaton.
There seems to be a panic to link up and save money with this credit crunch. I know there's a downturn, it' been coming for about four years now. Everything was fine until then and suddenly work load plummeted, vans were laid off, men were gotten rid of. It did pick up but never to what it was and its gradually got worse since until we're now at a stage where major companies are struggling to make a profit.
Innovate logistics were the most recent to go to the wall after just 6 weeks before denying the rumours to the press, DHL have made a 1 billion us dollar deal with UPS to handle their stateside parcel.
Meanwhile rumours are rife that stobart who recently took over James Irlam are in a financial mess over commitments made by companies they have recently taken over with regards to land in London.
If Stobarts did go belly up, Tesco would probably buy them to secure their distribution, the trucks would be repainted in tesco colours, lose their names and the stobart spotters would be no more.
This is of course all rumour.
