Incidents 228 and 631, June 15
Drivers are being urged to keep their car keys secure after four vehicles were stolen from outside properties in Bedworth and north Warwickshire over the weekend.
In the first incident offenders used a hook or other implement to remove the keys through the letterbox and stole a green Landrover Freelander and a silver Saab estate from outside a home in Coventry Road, Exhall.
The incident is believed to have occurred overnight and was reported to police at about 11.00hrs.
The second incident occurred in Nuneaton Road, Furnace End where it is believed that offenders entered the property through an insecure door and stole two sets of keys from the kitchen whilst the occupants were in the property.
Two cars, a silver Vauxhall Corsa and a black Vauxhall Astra, were stolen.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: "It is tempting to leave you car keys near the front door so that you can pick them up on the way out the next morning, but it is far too easy for thieves to pick them up for you and make off in your car.
"You should also keep your doors locked even when you are in the house, otherwise sneak thieves can get in and make off with small items, including keys, without you knowing anything about it."
Police investigating yesterday's incidents would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity in either of the locations yesterday, saw the vehicles being driven away or is aware of their whereabouts.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Warwickshire Police on 01926 415000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
