I think the biggest Surprise is that a candidate for the BNP is standing for election. This will be an interesting By-Election for the town.
To date there are only Labour and Conservative Borough councillors. As far as I'm aware there are no Liberal Democrats, Independents or BNP Councillors in power.
Of all the candidates the odd one out and one causing the most concern for me based on literature I've received at 'Head Office' is the BNP candidate. My concerns have also been pointed out by Neighbours who were initially going to vote BNP but the noticed a distinct lack of something...Local Policy. They give plenty about how their other candidates have gotten elected in, where, how many they've got, plenty about top level party policy. Jobs for British workers, racism, indigenous population, political correctness, but not a jot, not one iota about Atherstone, it's people or North Warwickshire. I challenge Matty Mason to tell me what he'll be doing for local people, where he lives, and what his connection with the town is.

I didn't get on the Town council again CV9, I'm just too negative apparently, If I was more positive I'd get on. A very strange decision to me as it appears that the person they voted on has been on several times before. I'd have thought They'd want someone with my knowledge of infrastructure and Christmas Lights on there. So be it I get the message loud and clear.
as all of the parties bar matty are on the town council lets see how much of their positive thinking pays off tonight.
Based on the positive thinking of the candidates and their efforts to canvas the public I predict BNP wins I hope ray wins, nothing against gill or neil but its purely on balance of the parties for me. We have a labour candidate that was most supportive in the on going Borough council vendetta against me. Conservative already have a majority.

I'm surprised at how poorly the BNP candidte did, I can only assume that people picked up on the lack of local policies. Neil had very good local policies on his leaflets and this was very much a local election not a national one. 866 turn out. anyone know how many eligible voters there were?
