Lost has been lost by channel 4 to sky television.
A lot of you may have seen the adverts on sky(I haven't because my tv hasn't been on since the last episode of lost ended) but what is the reasoning behind this. ?
I investigated and found this on the ch4 web site.
So it seems that while Desperate housewives is worth the money, Lost wasn't.

Unfortunately, Sky put in a bid for LOST which we judged to be considerably above the show's commercial value given the decline in audience numbers between the first and second series.
We have to balance expenditure against likely commercial returns - if we bid to retain shows without a realistic ceiling we would be guilty of misusing our funds. The inevitable result of this would be diminishing returns and a subsequent inability to afford to buy the best new shows.
So it seems that while Desperate housewives is worth the money, Lost wasn't.
