Suspension of premises license, Atherstone, North Warwickshire

On October 20, 2010, Warwickshire Police made an application to North Warwickshire’s Borough Council’s licensing committee for the suspension of the premises license held by the Wheatsheaf, Atherstone
This followed a series of crime and disorder incidents believed connected to the premises.
The licensing committee upheld the application and an interim suspension to the premises licence was agreed until the full hearing on Monday November 15, 2010.
George Stepney Warwickshire Police Community Intervention Manager said: "Warwickshire Police, together with partners, are determined to reduce incidents of alcohol related violent crime, especially in our night time economy. We are committed to working with all concerned parties but will take the appropriate measures and enforcement, where necessary and warranted, to protect the public from harm."
