Atherstone girl Daniella Fretwell is about to reveal to us the real beauty behind horse riding. Daniella is one of fifteen Equestriennes who are being photographed wearing little more than their smiles for a 2012 Lady Godiva style calendar, with the intention of raising money for The Myelin Project, a charity which funds research into Multiple Sclerosis and the Leukodystrophies. The girls are being photographed in 12 beautiful locations from Thirsk to Warwickshire, to the shore of the Menai Strait. See some of the photographs from the shoots, reserve a calendar, which will be available from the end of August, and enter a free caption competition with the chance to win a signed Phil Collins self portrait doodle and a CD with 144 wallpaper images on it of all the Hot To Trot riders at www.hottotrot.orgwww.coventrytelegraph.net/news/co....92746-29140948/Daniella in the Coventry Telegraph

The last calendar shoot has been done in Bury with Cherie and Hayley, and we expect the calendar to be printed and in the shops within the next few weeks. 61 glossy photos of 16 beautiful horse riders. If anyone would like to order theirs online please do, at hottotrot.orgThe printer isn't charging us to print the calendars so 100% of the price of the calendar goes to The Myelin Project for research. Wondered if anyone had any advice to offer please. I'm being threatened with legal action over the calendar. We borrowed a horse from a stables in North Yorkshire to do a shoot for the calendar. The stables gave us one of their customers horses for an hour, after asking the owners permission to do so of course. Almost twelve months on and the girl who owns the horse has just emailed me telling me not to use any of the photographs and to remove all photographs with her horse on from the website, Facebook, and the calendar, or she will take legal action against me! She's also been posting threatening messages on our facebook pages. The calendar is being printed right now. All proceeds are going to Multiple Sclerosis and Leukodystrophy research. What to do? There is no law that I know of saying you can't take photographs of animals, unless they are on the owners own private property, in which case you need the owners permission, but these were taken on land owned by the stables and anyway, she did give her permission in the first place. The photos are at www.hottotrot.org/jessejames.htmandy

I'm no expert but i do know a bit from stuff I've read. its all about contracts. Your contract was with the horse riding stables and not the horse owner. The stables used her horse and gained her permission. That's their contract. You did the shoot on the stables land as per your contract so as as far as i can see you don't need the owners permission, you rent the stables as is with all the horses it houses unless they say you can't. If she has issues she should take it up with the stables. Its then up to the stables to buy you off to save them from legal action. A verbal contract although harder if not impossible to prove is as binding as a written one. Anything or one viewable from outside their land is fair game. I can take shop fronts, cars, people kids in the park, its all viewable from a place where I've got permission to be, in my case a public place. You were in a horse riding centre, private but again a place where the public would be expected to be. If she doesn't want her horse photographed she should keep it where the public can't see it. on private fields away from the roads and riding centres. Sounds like they object because they've realised its nude modelling. Its a shame that things like this crop up when all your trying to do is help good causes in a fun and interesting way.

Thank you for that info. She really wasn't interested in the least that it was for a good cause. 12 months after the first shoot, and amid all the legal hooha, the Hot To Trot calendar is finally being printed ;D The calendar photos are now on our website - www.HotToTrot.org and the calendar is available to purchase from there or from ebay. Read about all the riders on our website too - Lydia, the Theatre Nurse, Tracy who cares for people with MS, Jesse James who rehabs horses in need of tlc, Julie, Jodie, Jodie, and Lisa, four beautiful beauticians...... There are 16 Hot To Trot riders in total on 12 A3 size glossy photographs, and 76 smaller photos, and a chance to win an autographed Phil Collins self portrait doodle in Ronnie's caption competition. Every penny of the £9.99 purchase price will go to The Myelin Project, for research into Multiple Sclerosis and Leukodystrophy, thanks in part to the printer who isn't charging us for printing the calendars. Thank you all for your support so far. And if you ever get the chance to photograph 16 beautiful ladies in the buff, I would thoroughly recommend it. The horses were fun too, rearing up, throwing the riders off, running away...... Andy Monk Attachments:
