A fire engine on an emergency call out collided with a parked vehicle in Atherstone today. The engine was called out to a house fire in Coleshill and was on route when the accident occurred. The appliance collided with a parked van making a collection from a charity shop in long Street, The damage was minimal, believed to be just a wing mirror knocked off of the van which was reattached by a witness. However the call out had to be cancelled and another appliance sent whilst photographs and witness statements were taken. It is not yet know the extent of the fire and what affect the accident had on the amount of damage to the property or on risk to life.
